about

The Witch set me up.

The cats burst in just as we were done talking, guns a-blazin'. Good thing I managed to slip out the back. The Tinker wasn't so lucky; he got pumped full of lead, right then and there. From the look of surprise on his face, it seems he wasn't counting on them using him as target practice.

Cat's must've cut him a deal after the Tailor died. Too bad the Tinker was never really one for mind games. Their betrayal was inevitable, yet he never even saw it coming.

Either way, I don't blame him. Losing the backing of the Tailor meant that there was nothing stopping the cats from coming in and mopping up the rats. He did what he had to.

The rest was easy. The Gutter ain't easy to navigate, even for the natives. There was no way the brutes would catch up.

Once a gutterboy, always a gutterboy.
